Masterson’s Lounge, nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I found behind its threshold was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The floorboards were filthy, and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and filthy restrooms polluted the entire bar . Emitting a scent of a mixture of ammonia , putrefaction and illness . The main bar, which should be the main attraction of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The restroom was in even a more revolting state —overflowing , with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

From reading other reviews and speaking with locals a great read , it seems that the quality of upkeep (or lack thereof) at this pub is a well-known flaw .
